Reuse-Remake-Reinvent

Oooops! It's been long time since I updated my blog. I was busy with my ucas and personal statement, so I completely forgot about it. Anyway, I will try to improve)) So let's get started.
After reading week we came into new groups of our area choice. As you know I am doing 3D and Spatial, so before the reading week we were briefed the new project Reuse-Remake-Reinvent. We were asked to find a piece of second hand wooden furniture that can be transformed. So, I went to Portabello market and after two hours of wondering all over the place I finally found a furniture shop. People who worked there kindly agreed to sell me an old chair from their garage for £10. Yaaaay! I fitted into the required budget! My underground journey was a lot of fun, as I kept hitting people with my chair. Finally I brought it home. It looked so vintage compared to all furniture in my residence. It is made of old oak andyou can literally feel its spirit. I did some drawings and and took some photos of details.

Back in uni we started the whole process of the reconstruction. It was very difficult to put all details apart, as well as nail them, as nails started to break the whole detail, because my chair was made of very old oak. So, after some brainstorming and ideas I finally decided how I will transform my chair. I nailed some details with wooden nails, but the queue for the drill was so huge, so I used rope to keep them together.

I really enjoyed this project. I learnt how to develop ideas and communicate them with the materials and time you have. If I had more time I would nail all details properly using drill and then put ropes over it, because I think my final piece is fragile a bit.
